What "wagering" actually means (with real math)
BitStarz explains it plainly on its official blog: a 30x wagering requirement means you bet the bonus money 30 times. Deposit $100, get $100 bonus, and you must place $100 x 30 = $3,000 in bets before the bonus and its winnings can be withdrawn.
Now the math most bonus lists skip. At a typical slot RTP of 96%, every $100 you bet costs you about $4 on average. Clearing that 40x requirement on a $100 bonus means $4,000 in bets - about $160 in expected losses. That is more than the $100 bonus itself. This is why the headline is not the value: the wagering is.
Two more traps from the fine print:

This is our editorial rule of thumb, not an industry standard:
